Captain Cheeks' Favourite fart facts

1. Everyone farts! ... even the Queen!
It’s true! On average, humans pass gas 14 times a day. If you don’t, your tummy gets grumpy

2.Farts are mostly invisible!
About 99% of a fart is made up of gases like nitrogen, oxygen, carbon dioxide, hydrogen, and methane . The smelly 1% is what gets you noticed!

3. Beans really are the musical fruit 🎵
Beans contain complex sugars your body can’t fully digest , bacteria in your gut finish the job and create... sweet music.

4. Even animals fart! 🐘🐄🐍
Cows, elephants, dogs, and even some snakes let one rip. But octopuses and birds don’t fart.... lucky them!

5. Farts travel at rocket speed 🚀
When you toot, the gas whooshes out at around 7 miles per hour (11 km/h) ....that’s faster than some cyclists!

6.Silent but deadly? That’s science! 🧪
The quietest farts often smell the strongest because they’re packed with sulfur. The louder ones are usually just full of air!

7. Your farts are like fingerprints 🔍
No two farts are exactly the same, everyone’s gut bacteria and diet make a unique “signature sound and smell.”

8. The word “fart” is ancient! 🏺
It comes from the Old English word “feortan”, meaning “to break wind.” Humans have been laughing about it for centuries!

9. Holding in a fart? Bad idea! 😳
It can make your belly ache. The gas doesn’t disappear, it just gets reabsorbed or released later (sometimes with more force!).

10. Space farts are extra weird 🪐
Astronauts can’t escape their own farts — there’s no airflow in space, so... the smell just floats around the cabin.

11. Farts can catch fire! 🔥 (But don’t try it!)
Methane and hydrogen are flammable gases. Captain Cheeks says: “Science says yes, but safety says don’t even think about it!

12. Babies fart too — before they’re born! 👶
Scientists think babies can pass gas inside the womb. That’s one musical ultrasound!
